Troubleshooting

Diagnose Matruno issues across backend health, frontend requests, Temporal workers, PostgreSQL, Redis, documents, workflows, integrations, and auth.
Start with health#
From the repository root:

If the stack is running but the UI fails, open Swagger at http://localhost:5678/docs and Temporal UI at http://localhost:8233.
Check logs by service#

Then inspect the execution story#
For matter/workflow issues, confirm the matter status, legal lifecycle stage, attached workflow definition, matter tasks, human review tasks, documents, notes, audit timeline, agent logs, webhook deliveries, and Temporal workflow history.
Common narrow checks#

| Backend returns 500s | Backend logs, migrations, DATABASE_URL, PostgreSQL health |
| Login fails | auth route response, TOTP state, cookies, CORS, rate limiting |
| UI cannot call API | NEXT_PUBLIC_API_URL, CORS_ORIGINS, browser network tab |
| Workflow does not advance | worker logs, Temporal UI, task dependencies, pending human task |
| Documents missing | storage_data volume, document records, file paths, workspace scope |
| Integration not configured | relevant env vars, workspace connection status, provider credentials |
